National Psychology Supervision Conference 2027

About the Conference

Bringing together Australia's psychology supervision community to share knowledge, strengthen practice and shape the future.

Why NPSC?

Supervision Deserves Its Own National Conversation

Supervision plays a central role in the psychology profession. It supports the development of new psychologists, strengthens professional competence and provides an important space for reflection, learning and accountability throughout a psychologist's career.

Despite its importance, opportunities to come together specifically to examine the research and practice of psychology supervision have been limited.

The National Psychology Supervision Conference has been established to provide a dedicated forum for supervisors, researchers, educators and practitioners from across Australia.

It is an opportunity to exchange ideas, consider new evidence, share practical approaches and build connections across the profession.

Our Conference Theme

Setting the Standard:
Leading the Way

Effective supervision requires more than experience alone. It draws on evidence, professional judgement, reflective practice and a willingness to keep learning.

Our 2027 theme reflects both the responsibility supervisors carry and the opportunities ahead for our profession.

Strengthening Standards

Exploring the evidence, competencies and professional responsibilities that underpin effective supervision.

Advancing Practice

Sharing practical approaches, research and innovations that support supervisor development and better professional learning.

Leading the Future

Considering how supervision can respond thoughtfully to changing professional expectations, emerging technologies and evolving models of practice.

Our Story

Celebrating 21 Years of STAP

The National Psychology Supervision Conference is organised by STAP, a longstanding provider of psychology supervisor training in Australia.

21 Years

Supporting the training and development of psychology supervisors.

In 2027, STAP celebrates 21 years of contributing to psychology supervisor education.

This milestone provides an opportunity not only to reflect on the development of supervision over the past two decades, but also to look ahead.

NPSC builds on that history while creating a broader national forum for the people, research and ideas shaping psychology supervision.
